in "About sponsorship" The Economist states that your sponsors "must declare any relationship or conflict of interest they have with the subject under discussion." Statoil, the Norwegian petroleum giant, is increasingly depending on sale of natural gas, since Norwegian oil reserves are shrinking fast, while sale of natural gas is just as steadily on the rise, due to larger unexploited resources. Where is Statoil's declaration of conflict of interest to be found? I would very much like to see it, in print.
"This house believes that natural gas will do more than renewables to limit the world's carbon emissions."***

Også i siste nyhetsbrev fra The Economist annonserer Statoil: "Less CO2-emissions. Powered by Norwegian gas." Annonsen er å se ikke mindre enn TRE ganger - samtidig, altså, som The Economist kjører nettdebatt nettopp om holdbarheten i den påstanden. Petrokrati på norsk?
